With the conclusion of the Spring break and Easter holidays, Vallarta sees the close of another spectacular ‘season.” High Season is usually defined as the time between end of December and mid-April and features endless days of sun with cool nights filled with abundant activities for expats, snow birds and tourists alike. We are now entering shoulder season; and there is much to look forward to.
Prior to the rainy season the next three months are some of my favorites for several reasons. While tourism is year-round, the shoulder season sees less crowds and fewer cruise ships in port. That translates to being able to saunter down sidewalks and the Malecón at a leisurely pace and free from large crowds. Restaurants, bars and nightlife are easy to get in too, but still buzzing with revelers – especially Thursday through Sunday.
My favorite part of shoulder season is the warmer temperatures of the bay waters making swimming in the ocean a delight. The shoulder season is the perfect time to hit the beach and explore the vast array of hidden coves and beaches. Taking a dip in the aquamarine waters that are signature to the Bay of Banderas, provides instant relief from the powerful rays that toast your skin.
Additionally, since this is Vallarta, there is a plethora of activities and festivals to see and be part of, these are a few highlights.
