My Perfect Morning in Puerto Vallarta

Romantic Zone in Puerto Vallarta

The mornings in Puerto Vallarta are always magical: the beautiful pink light that greets the day and the quiet awakening of the Romantic Zone, are just a couple of reasons it’s my favorite time of the week. Toby, my frisky dog, instinctively knows what day it is and gets the morning started with playful howls “suggesting” we get out of the house (after his breakfast, of course).

As we make our way through the still-quiet streets of our Amapas neighborhood, the siren song of caffeine calls out so we make our way to The Coffee Cup on Rodolfo Gomez.  Toby’s favorite sisters are there to make a strong iced Americano for me and special treats for Toby.

On the move again, we make our way to the Olas Altas Farmers Market for a quick stop for the best croissants in the Bay before the crowds arrive to shop local artisans and sample food from around the globe.

We continue our walk along the Malecon as the shops, cafes and restaurants begin setting up for a busy day.  After completing the five kilometer walk, I drop off Toby and grab my yoga mat to head down to Flying Heart Yoga for a Vinyasa Flow class taught by master yogi Willis.  With many classes and yoga retreats, Flying Heart Yoga is a restorative studio on the bustling Basilio Badillo stretch just South of Insurgentes.

Ending my perfect morning, I treat myself to a Therapeutic Balance massage at Acqua Spa for Men.  This oasis offers a full menu of spa services; from facials, manicures and pedicures to three styles of massages and is the perfect way to wrap up a morning of self-care, getting me ready for a festive weekend with friends and family.
