I knew I had moved to Paradise when I arrived 12 years ago. …It was when I discovered El Eden that I knew for certain I’m still in Paradise!
El Eden is an organic farm with a stunning restaurant attached to it. El Eden is in the boondocks of the small city of Mezcales, between Nuevo Nayarit and Bucerias. The road is “mostly paved” and you’ll wonder, “Where the heck are we?” But when you arrive, you will be shocked to see an immaculate farm and garden. The restaurant is a Mexican contemporary architecture. Huge windows overlook the gardens and Sierra Madre mountains in the distance. They have an alley of papayas. They’re growing okra! My kind of farm!

Currently, they serve breakfast and brunch with the restaurant closing at 2 pm. (Closed on Mondays) Rumor has it they’ll be serving dinner later this year (I hope so!).
Their menu is a mix of traditional Mexican, nouvelle contemporary Mexican, and some international standards like eggs Benedict and a fresh bagel with salmon and cream cheese. I’m a fan of their Birria casserole. Their eggs Puebla style in a rich mole hits the spot! Kevin always orders the Morning Sandwich on a fresh roll with Argentinian sausage.

When you are seated, you’re always offered the “juice of the day”. It can be ordered with your meal…or they can add rum to “sweeten” it. (No vodka yet!)
The staff is professional and very welcoming! The food is fresh and clean. Saturday and Sunday are very popular; you’ll need reservations! They have a petting zoo on weekends, and your kids will love it! It’s definitely worth the trip!
